Do you print the artwork, or do I supply it?

We print the artwork as part of the job. Upload your print-ready file at checkout and we handle printing, mounting, and trimming. If you would rather supply your own flat, dry, trim-ready print, bring it to the Fremantle shop and we will dry-mount it for the per-panel price shown above; ask for the mount-only rate when you order.

White foam is the gallery-standard backing. The white edge reads as a thin frame around the print and gives the cleanest reveal of full-bleed prints. Black foam reads as a deeper, more deliberate edge and is the right pick for dark-toned prints or for portfolio pieces where the framing edge is part of the visual treatment.

How do I hang a foamboard mount?

Indoor walls: a single pin, thumbtack, or Velcro tab through the panel will hold any size up to A1. A0 panels are still pin-hangable but a French cleat or two pins on the top corners is more reliable. We do not pre-drill or pre-fit hangers; if you need the hardware, ask at order and we will quote.

Is foamboard weatherproof?

No. Foamboard is indoor-only; the paper face delaminates if it gets wet and the foam core soaks. For outdoor or covered-outdoor signage, see corflute signs or aluminium signs in the signage range.

Print and mount on 10mm foamboard, A3 to A0.

We print your artwork, then bond it to a 10mm foam panel with dry-mount adhesive in a single pass and trim the panel flush to the print edge with a precision blade. White or black foam. Pricing is per printed and mounted panel, charged by the quantity you select.

Materials

10mm thick foam panel (paper-faced rigid foam core) in white or black. 10mm is the thickness that holds shape at A0 without bowing under its own weight and is the right balance of rigid feel against light weight. Heavier than card, lighter than MDF. White panels give a clean, paper-coloured edge; black panels give a darker, more pronounced edge line.

Sizes

A3 (297 × 420mm), A2 (420 × 594mm), A1 (594 × 841mm), A0 (841 × 1189mm). Trimmed flush to the printed sheet (no border) by default. Custom sizes inside the A0 envelope can be quoted; below A3, switch to laminating instead since the foamboard adds weight without adding rigidity at small sizes.

How the print and mount is made

We print your artwork on the Fujifilm digital press, then run the print through a heated dry-mount press with a thin film of adhesive bonded to the back. The film activates with heat and pressure and bonds the print to the foam panel cleanly, with no bubbles or wrinkles. The panel is then trimmed on a precision rotary blade to match the print edge. Finished panels are flat, square, and ready to hang.

When to mount on foamboard

Exhibition graphics, gallery prints, presentation boards, real-estate vendor signs, photographer portfolios, conference signage, awards displays, and any wall-or-easel display where a printed sheet alone would curl or sag. Indoor use; foamboard is not weatherproof.
