What file format should I upload?

Vector artwork only: PDF, AI or EPS with all type converted to outlines and strokes expanded. The cutter follows vector paths, so a raster file (JPG or PNG) cannot be plotted directly. If you only have a logo and a brief, our in-house studio can rebuild it as a vector and quote the design time with the job.

How small can the lettering go?

Keep your smallest text at least 20mm tall. Cut vinyl is weeded by hand, and finer than that the thin parts of a letter (serifs, and the centres of an "a" or "e") tear out before they reach the carrier sheet. If your design needs small print, full-colour printed window film holds fine detail better than cut vinyl.

Can I have more than one colour?

Each piece of vinyl is a single solid colour. For multi-colour artwork (a two-colour logo, for example) we plot each colour as a separate panel and layer them on application. The quote reflects the number of panels needed.

Will it last outdoors?

Yes. We use a weatherproof self-adhesive vinyl rated for outdoor use on shopfronts and vehicles. Lifespan depends on sun exposure and the surface, but most jobs run 5+ years on glass and painted panel.

The vinyl ships on a carrier sheet that holds the spacing of your design. Clean the surface, position the panel with masking tape, then use the centre-hinge method to apply it (see our installation video). For larger panels an applicator squeegee makes the job easier; add one on request.

What if the cut comes out wrong?

We re-plot it free, no questions. Every file is reviewed by our staff before we cut, so issues are usually caught up front, but if something slips past us we own it.

Cut vinyl is the precision letter and shape format. Unlike printed window film there is no white background and no halftone dots: the colour is the vinyl itself, cut to the exact path of your artwork and weeded so only the shape remains. Long-lasting, clean and the right choice for trading hours, logos, door lettering and feature graphics.

Sizing

Pick the smallest bounding box that circumscribes your artwork. A 250mm-diameter circle fits the 300 × 300mm tier; a 600 × 200mm strap-line fits the 800 × 800mm tier; a long shopfront banner fits 1500 × 1000mm. Anything larger goes on the Custom tier and we quote on file review. Multiple pieces (e.g. a row of door letters) can run on one panel if they fit the chosen bounding box.

Colours

Nine solid colours: White, Black, Navy Blue, Sky Blue, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Holographic. Holographic shifts colour as the viewing angle changes, which is popular for event signage and feature lettering. Each piece is a single colour; for multi-colour artwork we layer separate cut panels on application (priced per panel).

Material

Durable, weatherproof self-adhesive vinyl rated for outdoor use. Supplied on a carrier sheet so the spacing between letters stays exact when you transfer it to glass, painted metal or smooth wall. Application instructions are included with every order; an applicator squeegee can be added on request.

Artwork

Cut vinyl needs vector artwork (PDF, AI or EPS) with all type converted to outlines so the cutter has clean paths. Strokes should be expanded and thin lines (under 1.5mm) avoided, because the vinyl cannot hold them after weeding. Keep your smallest lettering at least 20mm tall too. Anything finer and the centres of letters like "a" and "e" tear out when we weed the cut and lift the panel. No vector file? Our in-house studio can rebuild your logo or set your text from a brief, quoted with the job.

Turnaround and delivery

Standard turnaround is two to four business days from artwork sign-off. Custom-tier jobs (over 1500mm on the longest side, or odd shapes) get a confirmed lead time on the quote because cut path length drives the run time.
