Choosing envelopes
How to pick the size and window for your envelopes.
- DL (110 × 220mm) fits a tri-folded A4. It is the standard business letter size
- C5 (162 × 229mm) fits a half-folded A4, for thicker proposals
- C4 (229 × 324mm) fits an unfolded A4, for portfolios, contracts and presentation packs
- Plain: no cut-out. The address prints on the envelope or goes on a label
- Windowed: a die-cut window with a glassine patch, so the address printed on the letter inside shows through
- The window position is fixed, so set the letter artwork to suit it

What size envelope do I need?
DL fits a standard A4 page tri-folded, the most common business letter envelope. C5 fits A4 folded in half. C4 fits a full A4 sheet unfolded. If you are mailing letterheads, DL is almost always the right call.
How do windowed envelopes work?
The envelope has a die-cut rectangle covered with a clear glassine patch. The window is positioned so the recipient address printed on the letter inside shows through.
What file format should I upload?
